We’re thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity that will stir the palates and imaginations of event management professionals across Australia.
The Great Southern region, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle, exceptional talent, premium cuisine, and award-winning wines and beverages, is embarking on a new chapter with its flagship event, Taste Great Southern.
Since its inception in 2004, Taste Great Southern has become a cornerstone of the region’s identity, attracting substantial funding from industry supporters, state and local governments, and in recent years, receiving multi-year backing from Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program. As we approach the conclusion of current funding and management arrangements post-2024, we are dedicated to continuing this legacy.
We understand the immense value and potential of a signature food and wine event in the region, a sentiment echoed by local stakeholders, including governments and industry members. After two decades of success and significant state government funding, we are keen to keep the momentum going, attracting further investment and maintaining our status as a premier culinary destination.
As part of our commitment, we’ve initiated stakeholder consultations and are gearing up to propose continued funding for 2025 and beyond. Our vision is to create an event that not only retains its regional significance but also becomes synonymous with our area’s exquisite food and beverages, driving tourism and showcasing our unique offerings to the world.
To achieve this, we are seeking expressions of interest from professional event management companies that can bring innovative, world-class experiences to our region. We invite those with a deep understanding of our objectives, the capacity to deliver a high-standard event, and a track record of success to submit their proposals.
Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a Request for Proposal, offering a detailed vision and understanding of the festival’s potential directions, local and wider tourism markets, and proposed event management methodologies.
This is more than an event; it’s a celebration of the Great Southern’s spirit and a toast to its future. Join us in crafting a gastronomic journey that will leave a lasting impression on our region and its visitors for years to come.
