Australia’s South West 2022 Board Election

Thank you for your time in voting for the Great Southern Elected Representative position for the Australia’s South West Board. We have two nominations for the role. Please see their biographies below and the nomination form at the bottom of this page. There is one nomination per paid member organisation.

The nominees are:

Steve Millhouse
Hilton Garden Inn, Albany

“Steve is a widely experienced hospitality manager that has dedicated over 25 years to the industry, with 23 of those within the Hilton Worldwide Group, gaining experience throughout Australia and overseas. He has a wealth of knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry within an international chain. Steve’s operational knowledge has been developed through large projects assisting with refurbishments, managing teams throughout multiple locations and most recently opening the first Hilton Garden Inn within the Australasian region, located in Albany.  Steve currently serves on the ASW Board in the Great South position and is a member of the Finance and Risk Committee.  Steve looks forwards to continuing to contribute positively to the Board’s future strategic direction.”

Wayne Monks
Great Southern Outback Tours & Accommodation

“With extensive senior management, board and financial/commercial experience along with the knowledge of tourism at all levels Wayne brings a range of skills to the ASW Board. Wayne is a professionally – semi-retired FCPA with a Bus Degree in Accounting along with a Grad Dip in HRM. Worked with WMC Resources for 20 years in the E Goldfields, Adelaide and Melbourne and have strong skills in corporate governance, risk management, OH&S, strategic planning and financial management.  Wayne formed Great Southern Outback Tours & Accommodation that is a Quality/Sustainable Tourism Accredited Business which offers tour options throughout the Great Southern, Wheatbelt and Goldfields along with The Grange on Kalgan Farmstay and collaborates with a Margaret River based tour company so tours are across the whole of the South West.”
